WARM Subaward Announcement

Advocates for Human Potential (AHP) is pleased to announce 6 organizations that have been awarded funding for the initial period of performance as Warm Handoff and Recovery Support Services (WARM) subrecipients. A total of $6,000,000 over 3 years has been approved to be distributed by the Illinois Opioid Remediation Advisory Board (IORAB) for WARM services in the state of Illinois.  

This subaward will allow organizations to facilitate recovery support for individuals with opioid use disorder (OUD) or substance use disorders (SUDs) who are experiencing a housing transition upon reentering the community from incarceration.  

The WARM subrecipients include the following organizations:

Chestnut Health Systems, Inc.

Chestnut offers a comprehensive scope of behavioral health and human services in Illinois and Missouri. From drug and alcohol addiction treatment facilities and primary care medical homes to a research institute, Chestnut continuously works to achieve its mission to improve quality of life through excellence in service.

Community Health Improvement Center

Community Health Improvement Center, dba Crossing Healthcare and Crossing Recovery Services, contributes to the overall wellbeing of the community by offering a wide range of services, from primary health care to drug and alcohol treatment.

McDermott Center

McDermott Center, dba Haymarket Center, is a designated Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) Look-Alike and provides comprehensive healthcare services, including treatment for substance use and mental health disorders.      

Northern Illinois Recovery Community Organization

Northern Illinois Recovery Community Organization (Nirco) is a peer-led, peer-run RCO and a member of Faces and Voices of Recovery’s Association of Recovery Community Organizations. Nirco promotes recovery principles for individuals and families to strengthen recovery advocacy, peer engagement, and community collaboration in the Northern Illinois area.

Sinai Health System

Sinai Health System empowers Chicago’s West and Southwest side communities toward healthier lives, by overcoming barriers and providing exceptional health care. Through a network of hospitals, community clinics, a community institute, and a nationally recognized research institute, Sinai works to address some of the city’s most severe systemic barriers and serve those suffering greater health disparities.

Wellness And Recovery with Maitri, Inc.

Wellness and Recovery with Maitrī Inc NFP (WARM) provides innovative care for individuals facing addiction and mental health challenges. Through evidence-based services and extended care residential treatment, WARM empowers clients to establish healthy relationships, integrate into their communities, and reach their full potential.

AHP administers the Regional Care Coordination Agency (RCCA) grant as authorized by CSFA 444-26-3078. This subaward depends on the availability of funding for the Illinois Opioid Remediation State Trust Fund through the Illinois Department of Health Services (IDHS), for the express purpose herein.
