COMPP Subaward Announcement

Advocates for Human Potential (AHP) is pleased to announce the three organizations that have been awarded funding for the initial period of performance for Contingency Management Pilot Programs (COMPP). A total of $1,500,000 has been approved to be distributed across 3 years by the Illinois Opioid Remediation Advisory Board (IORAB) for COMPP services in the state of Illinois.   

The goal of COMPP is to increase treatment retention, to increase medication compliance, and to reduce opioid use among individuals with OUD or polysubstance use disorder, including opioids, who participate in MAR or other evidence-based treatment and recovery supports, particularly among disproportionately affected populations and/or areas of the state. To accomplish this goal, subrecipients of COMPP funding will:  

  • Design and staff a comprehensive Contingency Management (CM) program  
  • Train staff in evidence-based and evidence-informed CM practices  
  • Administer incentives (with and/or without monetary value) in compliance with state and federal laws and regulations  
  • Document individual participant outcomes, including incentives received and abstinence, adherence, and attendance outcomes, as applicable

The Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois   

Chicago – The University of Illinois at Chicago School of Public Health has operated Community Outreach Intervention Projects (COIP) to serve people who use drugs in Chicago for more than 30 years. The COIP, which use the Indigenous Leader Outreach Model, strive to reduce the spread of HIV, sexually transmitted infections, hepatitis, and substance use-related harm among vulnerable and underserved populations.   

Gateway Foundation, Inc. 

Chicago – For 50 years, Gateway has offered a full continuum of care across a wide range of clinical settings, including outpatient, residential, day treatment and aftercare at locations throughout Illinois. Gateway experts have been leaders in the field, providing guidance about drug and alcohol abuse and the co-occurring mental health conditions that so frequently compound addiction. 

Heritage Behavioral Health Center, Inc. 

Decatur – Heritage acts as a one-stop-shop for individuals with substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health issues, having served central Illinois for nearly 70 years. Offering crisis management, children’s and adult mental health services, substance use and addiction support. Heritage identifies the need for wraparound care, offering primary care and other community-based services to serve the whole person.
