Public Awareness Campaigns on Substance Use and Supports (PACSS)
PACSS subrecipients develop and implement educational campaigns that align with Public Act 101-0027 Cannabis Regulation and Tax Act requirements. The campaigns educate communities across the state about the health effects of substance use and provide resources for intervention and harm reduction to meet the following objectives:
- Reducing, preventing, or delaying use or misuse of substances.
- Minimizing stigma associated with substance use disorder, treatment, and recovery.
- Reducing harms associated with substance use and misuse, including overdose.
Subrecipients are expected to:
- Collaborate with organizations who work with individuals who use substances to inform campaign design and distribution
- Design and disseminate campaign materials
- Evaluate campaign performance
