MMHU-3 Subaward Announcement
Advocates for Human Potential (AHP) is pleased to announce the 3 organizations that have been awarded funding for the initial period of performance as the Medication Assisted Recovery Mobile Health Units 3.0 (MMHU-3) subrecipients. A total of $15,000,000 has been approved to be distributed across 3 years by the Illinois Opioid Remediation Advisory Board (IORAB) for MMHU-3 services in the state of Illinois. Two prior MMHU rounds were awarded to four organizations.
The goal of the program is to improve the health and safety of individuals with opioid use disorder (OUD) and other substance use disorders (SUDs) who are considered at high risk for overdose and medical complications due to barriers to health care access. Subaward funding will be used to:
- Increase access to medication assisted recovery (MAR) for individuals with OUD or other SUDs.
- Decrease health inequities by making immediate care of acute and chronic conditions, including OUD/SUD, available to individuals within the priority population wherever care is sought in the service area.
The MMHU-3 subrecipients:
Metro East – CBHC of St. Clair County services more than 2,000 consumers, providing therapeutic counseling, psycho-social testing, individual and group therapy, crisis intervention, consultation, community intervention, psychiatric evaluation, case management services, referrals, and outreach services to the community.
West Chicago – Serenity House hosts men’s and women’s residential programs and offers treatment, individual counseling, group counseling, family support including family nights, and sober fun activities.
Peoria – A Level 1 trauma center and tertiary care medical center, St. Francis Medical Center is committed to providing safe, high-quality care to the Central Illinois community, supported by appropriate staffing and clinical expertise.

AHP administers the Regional Care Coordination Agency (RCCA) grant (CSFA 444-42-3916). This subaward depends on the availability of funding for the Illinois Opioid Remediation State Trust Fund through the Illinois Department of Health Services (IDHS), for the express purpose herein.
