Build, Amplify, Support, Empower (BASE) Prevention Programs
The 14 subrecipients of BASE funding establish and expand substance use prevention and reduction programming for youth and emerging adults throughout the state.
Community Outreach and Recovery Supports (CORS)
Fourteen organizations across deliver CORS support services to individuals with opioid use disorder and other substance use disorders who are experiencing homelessness or housing instability.
Medication-Assisted Recovery Mobile Health Units (MMHU)
Four subrecipients provide care, distribute opioid use disorder medication, and connect individuals to other recovery services as needed.
Opioid Training and Technical Assistance Center (OTTAC)
One OTTAC subrecipient is positioned to strengthen the health care and behavioral health workforce in Illinois. Communities disproportionately impacted by opioid overdoses and multigenerational harms associated with structural racism and health inequities are prioritized.
Public Awareness Campaigns on Substance Use and Supports (PACSS)
Four subrecipients develop and implement educational campaigns that align with Public Act 101-0027 Cannabis Regulation and Tax Act requirements.
Supportive Services and Treatment for Accessible Recovery - Together (START) for Pregnant and Postpartum Persons and Their Families
Four subrecipients expand access to comprehensive, holistic services for pregnant and postpartum people with opioid use disorder and other substance use disorders.
Increase Access to Telehealth (TELEHEALTH)
Five subrecipients will establish telehealth services in areas and communities of Illinois that are inadequately served by existing resources and/or are historically underserved.
Contingency Management Pilot Programs (COMPP)
Three subrecipients increase medication compliance and reduce opioid use among individuals with opioid or polysubstance use disorder who participate in Medication-Assisted Recovery or other evidence-based treatment and recovery supports.
Intramuscular Naloxone Distribution Hub (IMNH)
One subrecipient operates IMNH to increase access to and availability of intramuscular naloxone injection kits to people who use opioids.
Opioid Abatement Strategies Effectiveness Evaluator (OASEE)
One OASEE subrecipient provides statewide support on measuring outcomes for each opioid abatement strategy using research, data analysis, and reporting.
Opioid Treatment Program Partnerships (OTPP)
Three subrecipients increase access to all forms of Medication-Assisted Recovery, particularly in regions of the state inadequately served by existing opioid treatment programs and medication units.
Supplies, Access, Facilitation, and Education (SAFE)
Thirteen SAFE subrecipients are committed to reducing the adverse health, social, and economic consequences of substance use for persons in active use of substances in Illinois through harm reduction services.
West Side and South Side Opioid and Heroin Taskforces
Two organizations coordinate taskforces to facilitate collaboration among community-based workgroups in the Chicago area to prevent opioid overdose deaths.
Warm Handoff and Recovery Support Services (WARM)
Six subrecipients provide peer recovery support services using a warm handoff model to individuals with opioid use disorder or other substance use disorder who are in a housing transition.
